A small group at CCBC is establishing and building links with the local community in Chipping Campden and surrounding villages. Our principle activity is Coffee & Chat, which is a drop-in coffee morning held in the church building every Monday morning, from 10am to 12.30pm.
There is a regular group of regular locals who look forward to coming every week but we get visits from some of the residents and staff from Badgers’ Field and often have visitors to Campden dropping in for coffee. We make a point of sitting with and talking to our visitors and have many positive and meaningful conversations about church and faith. We also offer to pray for visitors, when appropriate, and keep a record of their prayer requests.
We have a number of helpers, who serve and chat on a rota basis, but additional helpers would be welcome. We would also invite church members to come in for coffee, whenever they are able to, as they will enjoy the company and may be able to assist in chatting with visitors.
We hold a Care for Campden prayer meeting every two months or so and also seek to assist in running other one-off activities that will open the church up for local people to come in or take the church out into the community, such as opening the church for the Spirit of Christmas in Campden, and for the Scuttlebrooke Wake.
