Worshipping God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit is a priority and privilege at CCBC.
We purposefully set aside time in our gatherings and meetings to worship Him, especially with songs and prayers. Of course, worship is far broader and more encompassing than singing and praise, and not confined to either Sunday services or church groups (see Romans 12:1-2). God comes first. For instance, in our Sunday morning service the opening time of praise, before Junior Church starts, tends to be more ‘upbeat’ and lively. Our evening service has more opportunity for a longer time of praise and worship. Similarly, worship is our first prioroty at our Leadership Team meetings, Church Vision Meetings and ‘Hungry for God’ gatherings.
We are blessed to have a broad and gifted group of worship leaders and musicians who serve week by week. The worship teams are a key part of our Sunday services. They meet each week, often on a Monday evening in the High Street Building, to rehearse and practice before the coming Sunday.
Henry Salmon serves as the Worship Co-ordinator at CCBC. He oversees our worship bands, musicians and helps encourage us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, discern the direction of the Holy Spirit in church life, mission and ministry, and in weekly corporate worship. Ali has practical oversight and responsibility for leading, encouraging and developing an attitude of worship principally in musicians and worship leaders, and supporting the vision and ethos of the church. He also co-ordinates musicians, band make-up and resources, ensuring good communication, and working with PA and A/V teams to do our best for God. If you’re interested in finding out more please talk with Ali or Edward.
1 Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD. (NIV)
